Whenever we go to any BBQ restaurant, I usually order BBQ ribs. Sweet, sticky, delicious, tangy BBQ ribs. No forks and knives here – ribs are the ultimate finger food! I think that the best part about eating ribs is licking the BBQ sauce off your fingers when you’re done!

When it comes to making ribs, I’ve always viewed it as more of a weekend dish as it can be a hassle to prepare. Not anymore! Allow me to introduce you to Crockpot BBQ Ribs! I’m so excited to be able to have ribs for dinner any day of the week now…no matter how busy my schedule is! Oh boy; this could be a very dangerous thing!

Here’s how to prepare it:  (printable, shareable recipe below)

– First, split the rack of ribs into two halves. I use a pair of scissors for this – just cut it right down the middle.

– Next, season all sides with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and your favorite dry rib rub.

– Baste each side of the ribs with Sweet Baby Ray’s Original BBQ Sauce. I’ve tried other sauces but they haven’t been as successful. Sweet Baby Ray’s works best for this dish. Hands down!

– Place a Reynolds Slow Cooker Liner in your crockpot. This makes clean-up a breeze! The BBQ sauce tends to caramelize in the crockpot and it’s a pain to clean up. With the slow cooker liner, just remove and toss when you’re done!

– Place the ribs in the crockpot, rib side down. Add more BBQ sauce on the ribs. Cover.

– Cook on high for 4 hours, or on low for 8 hours.

– Remove the Crockpot BBQ Ribs from the crockpot very carefully. They will be super tender and want to fall off the bone. Use two spatulas; or one spatula and a pair of tongs. Baste more BBQ sauce on the ribs.

– Broil in the oven for about 5 minutes right before serving. This will allow the sauce on the ribs to caramelize and even char a little. Keep a really close eye on this to make sure the ribs don’t burn (Guilty!!) I use my toaster oven as it has a “Broil” feature. Takes just a couple of minutes to pre-heat and does a fantastic job. Again, keep a really close eye on this as it will burn quickly!

– That’s all there is to it to make Crockpot BBQ Ribs!

Both my sons absolutely LOVE this dish. My older son told me, “Mom….now I know why you order ribs all the time when we go out. Because it’s soooo gooood!!”
